Listening: "Sometimes it's a Bitch"
by Stevie Nicks (best lyric - "I try to dance with what life has
to hand me")
Reading (perhaps quality): Back with The
Secret Book of Grazia dei Rossi.
Reading (definitely pulp): Finished the
Anne Perry mystery.
Drinking: Some diet coke with plenty of
ice.

Was looking through a couple of boxes
of yet-unpacked stuff and found a clipboard I made during my horrible
junior year of college (well horrible only because of my roommates-with-severe-issues,
otherwise it was fine). The clipboard has a bunch of pictures and quotes,
including the famous prayer by St. Francis of Assisi. Just reading it
to myself, then reading it aloud reminded of that unpleasant time and
brought such an incredible sense of current peace.
Lord, make me a channel of Thy peace.
That where there is hatred I may bring love,
That where there is wrong I may bring the spirit of forgiveness,
That where there is discord I may bring harmony,
That where there is error I may bring truth,
That where there is doubt I may bring faith,
That where there is despair I may bring hope,
That where there are shadows I may bring Thy light,
That where there is sadness I may bring joy.
Lord, grant that I may seek rather
To comfort than to be comforted;
To understand than to be understood;
To love than to be loved;
For it is by giving that one received;
It is by self-forgetting that one finds;
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven;
It is by dying that one awakens to eternal life.
Good weekend this weekend - friday
night went to the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse for the first time
- good movie (Die Another Day), good company. Saturday day did some
cleaning then that night went to Old Stein over near Annapolis with
Foster, Fabian,
Demmert, Darren
and D. Had some good beer (the raspberry lambic
was sublime) and food - the gang of us hung out and talked. Much good
natured razzing was exchanged. Then today I've done some cleaning and
then Foster came over for some hair dying. Mine's still wet now so I
don't know how the color turned out - am anticipating a slight color
lift and my 10 grey hairs gone.

Doing (life and related tasks): Foster
dyed my hair today very nicely while I missed huge chunks of hers. Otherwise
did some cleaning and organizing of the apartment.
Doing (crafty stuff): Doing the arm decreases
on the back of the Grecian Plait sweater. Hope to finish the back today
or tomorrow.
Wanting: A haircut. A few extra hours sleep.
Anticipating: All the bachelorette stuff
for D this weekend.
