So it's been an entertaining couple of days...

Last night caught Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind with Fabian. We've talked about going to see it for a while now and though I was tempted to go see it on my own he still hasn't forgiven me for seeing Lost in Translation without him. We grabbed dinner beforehand and then settled into the film. Amazingly Jim Carrey didn't annoy me and I liked Kate Winslet as always. And as, lately, I've been trying to put my romantic life into perspective the get-rid-of-the-good-to-get-rid-of-the-bad conundrum it posed made me think. Am still mulling over it.

The only downside? About an hour into it I started to feel sick and had to leave the theater. Yup, like with Blair Witch the damn hand held camera arty thing made me motion sick. They should put warnings with those films. So Fabian held my coat as I went to be ill. Twice. Even managed to fill me in on what I missed. What a dear.

Then there was tonight. At work last week we finished up the web site for Dolly Parton and tonight was the performance. Wasn't sure what to expect -- a few songs, a speech from the Librarian, etc. Low key, nothing much.

Well I was wrong - Dolly completely rocked. Starting off with Red, White and Bluegrass she launched into stories from her past, and songs from throughout her career (Coat of Many Colors, 9 to 5, Jolene, Here You Go Again, I Will Always Love You, and more). It was great. As a techie I rarely get tickets to these kinds of things -- was glad when I did this time it was truly worth going.

Doing (life and related tasks): Work! Work! Work! But don't think for a second I haven't been remembering my grandmother's death a year ago. I still can't believe she's gone.

Doing (crafty stuff): started a sweater.

Wanting: extra hours in the day.

Anticipating: a good night's sleep.
