Listening: Jolene, of course. Reading (perhaps quality): Between books. Reading (definitely pulp): Nothing. Drinking: Nothing. |
November 15, 2005 Because I'm too lazy to write it all twice - check out the fabulous pictures and sporadic commentary on Foster's and my road trip to Pigeon Forge Tennessee and Dollywood (will open a new window to my Flickr account - you should be able to see and select the photo sets there). If you can't tell from the photos the trip was great - fun and kitchy and did I mention fun? But I will answer the inevitable question - why did we want to go to Dollywood? Enough to, you know, drive 8 hours each way and spend hard earned cash on entertainments not seen outside of Branson Missouri? It sort of started off as a joke - not a joke really but I guess a flip sort of thought about different kinds of vacation destinations. Neither Foster nor I are big country music fans but Tennessee had two other places we wanted to see (Graceland and the Grand 'Ol Oprey) so Dollywood seemed to make a good third destination. Then we were talking over the summer and just decided to do it. Another thing you may not be able to tell from the photos - I couldn't imagine a better person to go on this trip with than Foster. Logistically it went off without a hitch and she was the perfect blend of goofy and game that this destination required. Now just to plan the next excursion... |
Doing (life and related tasks): Uploading those pictures took a while - what more do you people want from me... Doing (crafty stuff): Really wanted to find a Dolly Parton needlepoint kit was was totally thwarted. Wanting: Nothing much more than what I have. Anticipating: Some looks at work when I come into a meeting with one of my new Dolly mugs. |
