Listening: "Who's Line is it Anyway?" - I looooove that show.

Reading (perhaps quality): Arturo Perez Reverte's new book. Forget the name of the book but his books completely rock.

Reading (definitely pulp): the Post this morning. I mean it's good writing but it is pulpy paper.

Drinking: clear cold water.

The weather's finally gotten little cooler. I mean, today the high was somewhere in the 80's rather than the horrid 90's it had been.

I hate hot weather. I know people who like it but I really don't. Maybe it's having grown up in California. Mostly I think it's the feeling of sweat trickling down your back after 5 minutes of being outside and you're just standing there. No walking or running or even moving and still you're sweating. Makes we want to go back inside, crank up the air conditioner, and not emerge until October.

So I am grateful for the decent weather this week. Walking through Clarendon in the early morning the breeze was soft and cool, the sun diffuse yellow instead of the haze colored red it has been. Lovely.

The care package from Mom arrived today. She told me she was sending me some stuff and I was expecting to receive it some time in November - at home the post office is a couple of towns away and though you can leave boxes for Leon the postal carrier, he'll send them and tell you how much it is, I figured between the two of them it would be a while. But no, stuffed into my mailbox was a large box crammed with tank tops (I told her I didn't have any that covered my bra straps), a couple of things to add to my wall collages, and a card that was so nice it made me want to cry. She's really awesome, and not just because she's my mom (or because she sends me stuff).

Listened to the soundtrack from "Josie and the Pussycats" and drank three cups of coffee today. Was completely wired, between the caffeine and the guitar riffs.

Both contributed to the sense of urgency for getting those designs out - have been scared about showing original design work. I know I can create good looking well constructed sites. But so can the people I work with. And they know what kinds of sites the library has succeeded with in the past.

In so many ways my lack of organizational knowledge is starting to get to me. I know learning the stories, being a part of the stories takes time but I wish I had some sort of cheat sheet. Actually it all makes me really miss Marge at the FDIC - having someone who looks out for you and fills in the back story without an axe to grind is so rare.

But my colleague took a look at my two designs and sent me an e-mail this evening. Saw it but haven't read it - am nervous. Cross your fingers for me.

Dinner last night with Talullah and a group of her friends was a lot of fun. Good food, good wine (of course), excellent conversation. Saturday night at Carpool with Carrie, Foster and Fabian was great too.

This week's quiet so far - have plans for the weekend but right now weeknights are empty. Just as well, there's laundry to do and running to catch up on. Hasta manana, then.

Doing (life and related tasks): Finished up the site design I was working on on friday and mocked a second design up, did some research on PDF accessibility, came home and relaxed and worked more on my knitting and collages pages.

Doing (crafty stuff): finished the stripey hat tonight.

Wanting: someone to do my laundry for me.

Anticipating: not sure yet, but I feel like something really good is out there.
