The place looks festive!
Finally decided to get a tree
this year. Okay, so its a fake 2 foot one that I bought at Michael's
last week, but it's close to the trees of my childhood - other
than it's fakeness, this tree is covered in me-as-a-kid.
Several years ago my mom sent
me all of the family ornaments - the ones I made in kindergarten,
the baby's first ones with my name, and the other ones I remember
putting up year after year. Each December I've looked at the guiltily,
meaning to put them up somewhere but never really getting around
to it.
|
This year two things sent me
over the edge -
The Tree Itself - it was cheap,
it was there, and it's small enough to store away innocuously
the rest of the year.

presents! presents! presents!
The Presents - I'd been piling up
the presents in the living room because that's where I was wrapping
them. One morning I realized that they'd ended up in a little mound
in front of the tv. That just seemed both eerily reflective of Christmas'
current role in our culture and too depressing for words. |
So its all decorated here. The spirit
has definitely hit!

Doing (life and related tasks): Finished
up the boards for class, met up with one of the boys from the house
on C Street for dinner and Christmas shopping.
Doing (crafty stuff): Talullah and I are
getting together this weekend for a day of resin and marbles... craft-o-rama!
Wanting: Someone to do my laundry. Fast.
Anticipating: Lots of good stuff planned
for the weekend!
