Listening: Watching episodes of Lost
from earlier in the season, to get properly hepped for Thursday's season
finale.
Reading (perhaps quality): She's a Rebel:
The History of Women in Rock and Roll by Gillian G. Gaar
Reading (definitely pulp): Nothing right
now
Drinking: Drinking cool water, kind of wanting some sangria.

Its been a long, full weekend.
Friday met up with Liz
and SS the SS at Foggy Bottom, trekked over
to Georgetown, had a delish pizza dinner there, and then across the
bridge to Rosslyn to see Thunderball as part of the James Bond
film festival there. Good friends, sneaked-in wine, gorgeous weather,
and even more gorgeous Sean Connery - all very good.
Saturday met up with LA
for yin yoga over in Dupont. Have never been to one of those classes
but essentially you go into stretching poses cold and hold them long
periods. It was one of the more relaxing classes I've been to in a long
time, at least until the crazyhard vinyasas at the end! We then had
some lunch and hung out, was great to catch up. Ran home (pretty literally),
got changed, and headed over to the Uptown to catch Indiana Jones
and the Kingdom of teh Crystal Skull with a very fun group I've
known for the last decade through Beley. Went
out after the movie to geek out by dissecting the movie and crack up
talking about years and years of party madness.
Sunday SS the SS
and I headed out to Harpers Ferry for some hiking. Had lunch first over
in Fredricksburg (very cute!), got lost and then got directions from
some nice people, and then made our way to Harpers Ferry. We got into
the park and the Park Service guy gave us an extended rundown on what
trails to go on, secret parking places in town, and places to go the
next day if we came like coming back the next day. SS the SS and I made
our way to the C & O canal and made tracks. About 2 hours and 8
miles later we made it back into town. The post-hike ice cream was tasty
but the walk was even better - green and quiet and wildlife-y. We saw
a ton of turtles lazing on half-submerged logs, and a set of canada
geese goslings and mamas. The geese were of course our favorites - the
goslings were medium size yellow-brown fluff with wings that couldn't
have been more tha a few inches long and looked ridiculously (but cutely)
small. They had a mama nearby protecting them, was hissing at us in
what I suspect she tought was a very menacing fashion. We just tried
not to laugh.
Today's been quiet. I'm
exhausted for not-completely known reasons and just enjoying lazing
around, hanging out with the cat. Maybe a little bit of sangria then
some sleep, blessed sleep...
